BugFest Critter Cook-off

September 13, 2006
For Immediate Release

( RALEIGH)—Join the N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences on Friday, September 15 at 11:00 a.m. for the official kickoff to the 10th annual BugFest. Watch in amazement as Mildred Edna Cotton Council, better known as "Mama Dip" of Mama Dip's Country Cooking Restaurant in Chapel Hill and Chef Sarig Agasi from Zely & Ritz Tapas Restaurant and Wine Bar in Raleigh, go face to face against the clock to create a delectable dish, with creepy-crawly ingredients.

Sit ringside as everyday foods are spruced up with enough wiggly ingredients to make you squirm, and celebrity judges from local tv and radio stations roll up their sleeves and dig in! Each chef will prepare an appetizer, entree and desert to delight our fearless taste testers. The chef whose concoctions stimulate the judges' taste buds the most will be crowned 2006 BugFest Critter Cook-off Champion!

Located on the first floor of the Museum, the preview will last about an hour, with opportunities to interview the guest chefs and celebrity judges. Parking is available in the visitor parking lot at the corner of Jones and Wilmington streets.

This media event is the preview for the Museum's 10th annual BugFest, the nation's largest single-day festival dedicated to the insect world. BugFest 2006 takes place on Saturday, September 16 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. with free admission and activities.

For more information, call 919-733-7450, ext. 305.
