National
AIDS Memorial Quilt
The Museum of Natural Sciences joins area museums and churches to display sections of the National AIDS Memorial Quilt, in collaboration with the Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina. The National AIDS Memorial Quilt is an immense and moving display of memorials designed and created by people who have lost loved ones to acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Sunday, December 1 is World AIDS Day, a solemn reminder of those lost to AIDS, and a celebration of the progress achieved in HIV prevention, diagnosis and treatment. The Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina provides care for those living with AIDS, assistance for those with HIV/AIDS, and educational and preventative programs for the community at large. For information, please contact Jacquelyn Clymore, Alliance of AIDS Services-Carolina, at 919/212-9436. For more information on free public programs at the Museum of Natural Sciences, contact 919/733-7450 or see the Museums Web site at www.naturalsciences.org. The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, in downtown Raleigh, documents and interprets the natural history of the state of North Carolina through exhibits, research, collections, publications, and educational programming. Hours: Mon.-Sat., 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sun., noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Visit the Museum on the web at www.naturalsciences.org. The Museum is an agency of the N.C.
