Special Populations
Special populations programs provide educational opportunities for groups who may benefit from accommodations tailored specifically to their group’s needs. We offer both programs and tours on-site at the Museum, as well as outreach programs brought directly to you! Special programs are available for the following groups:
- Senior citizens
- Spanish or bilingual programming for the Hispanic/Latino community
- At-risk youth
- Special Education students and adults
- Persons with physical, mental, behavioral, or emotional differences
- Pediatric patients and their families
- Scout groups (e.g. Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.)
Most Museum tours for special population groups are free. Details on Outreach program fees can be found on the Outreach page. Please note that financial assistance is available. For more information or to register for a program or tour, contact Stephanie Bohr, curator of special populations, at stephanie.bohr@ncdenr.gov or 919.733.7450 x525.
