Cool Places to See Primates
The Duke University Primate Center conducts research on prosimians and their natural habitats in order to increase public understanding and awareness of primate biology and to promote conservation and global biodiversity. To learn more about lemurs, lorises, aye-ayes and bushbabys check out its web site or visit the center.

The North Carolina Zoological Park was the first zoo in the country to place animals in exhibits designed to recreate their natural habitats. Primates at the zoo include chimpanzees, western lowland gorillas, patas monkeys and hamadryas baboons just to name a few.

For 20 years, the National Zoo in Washington, D.C. has been the home to golden lion tamarins, natives to Brazil's Atlantic coastal rainforest. By collaborating with conservation organizations, Zoo scientists helped save these small-endangered monkeys from extinction.
