Arrive Bozeman, Montana ~1 p.m.
Travel to Yellowstone National Park (~2 hrs), check into cabins at Mammoth.

Sunday, June 10
Depart ~5:30 a.m. for Lamar
10 a.m. Hike Yellowstone River Picnic Area Trail; geology; journaling
3 p.m.   Meet NPS interpreter
Evening wildlife observations in Lamar

Monday, June 11
8 a.m. Geology of Mammoth Terraces hike with Ellen Petrick, NPS education staff
Visit Albright Visitor Center
Early afternoon — meet with NPS researcher in the field
Depart Mammoth
Late afternoon wildlife observation in Lamar Valley
Lodging at Roosevelt Rough Rider cabins

Tuesday, June 12
5 a.m. Early morning wildlife observation in Lamar Valley
Breakfast on trail
8:30 a.m. Hike with wildlife photographer, Dan Hartman
Tour of one room schoolhouse and Hartman gallery in Silver Gate
Hike Trout Lake trail — biology of Cutthroat trout and their role in ecosystem
Lodging at Roosevelt Rough Rider cabins

Wednesday, June 13
5 a.m. Early morning wildlife observation in Lamar Valley
If road conditions are passable, drive up to the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness
Hike in the Beartooths
Picnic lunch
Alpine wildflower identification, journaling
Early evening wildlife observation in Lamar Valley
Lodging at Roosevelt Rough Rider cabins

Thursday, June 14
Optional 5 a.m. wildlife observation in Lamar
Breakfast and check out of Roosevelt
Hike at Mt. Washburn — discussion of caldera
Geology of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone
Bird study through Hayden Valley — Stop at LeHardy Rapids
Mud Volcano
Lodging at Yellowstone Lake Frontier cabins

Friday, June 15
Early morning hike along Pelican Creek Trail
Travel to Old Faithful; stop at West Thumb; lunch
Mid to late afternoon — Geology of the Upper Geyser Basin with NPS staff
Lodging at Old Faithful Budget Cabins

Saturday, June 16
Early morning bird hike at Old Faithful
Visit Fountain Paint Pots
Lunch along Madison River — Trumpeter Swans and other wildlife of the river ecosystem
Obsidian Cliff
Stop at Golden Gate
Workshop review and evaluation
Lodging at Mammoth Budget Cabins

Sunday, June 17
Depart for Bozeman ~4:30 a.m. WOO HOO!!!
Depart for home on NW Flight 1783 to Detroit at 7:25 a.m.; Lv Detroit on NW Flight 1690 at 1:52 p.m.; arrive RDU at 3:33 p.m.
