Meet the 2005 Team
View the 2005 Itinerary

Today we arrived at Yellowstone National Park. It is a beautiful, sunny day. The wind is cool but not cold. Our first stop was to settle into our cute little cabins at Mammoth and then we were off to adventure.

We've seen many birds today, including an osprey tending her young in a nest. We also saw a pair of ravens engaged in raucous courtship behavior. There are many magpies here, dressed in tuxes. We all screamed with delight at the sight of a bald eagle soaring over Yellowstone River. We watched a pair of sandhill cranes as they groomed themselves on a tiny island, accompanied by ruddy ducks and a ring-necked duck.

While viewing spectacular landscapes, we have bull elk in velvet on the road between Mammoth and tower been fortunate to see elk, black bear, bison, moose, pronghorn antelope and bighorn sheep. We are tired but happy and ready for our first night of sleep.  More news tomorrow. Good night.
